I am Ssenfuka Henry a PhD candidate in Bioinformatics at Makerere University. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Education (biological) and a Master of Science in Molecular Biology. I have over eight years of research experience, focusing on gene expression analysis and it’s applications in recombinant biotechnology. My work is particularly oriented toward vaccine development, drug discovery, and diagnostic innovations. I am especially interested in integrating computational and experimental approaches to address pressing challenges in infectious diseases. My current research focuses on tuberculosis (TB), where I study host–pathogen interactions and work to identify molecular targets that can inform the development of improved diagnostics and therapeutic strategies. I am also involved in bioinformatics-driven approaches, including genomic analysis and the development of CRISPR-based diagnostic tools. I have co-authored three scientific publications and remain committed to advancing bioinformatics research in Africa. My broader interests include genomic surveillance, molecular evolution, and the application of innovative technologies to improve disease detection and control.
