Richard Mulondo

I am a molecular scientist with a background in Biochemistry and Chemistry, currently advancing my training through a Master’s in Bioinformatics at Makerere University. My work sits at the intersection of laboratory science and computational genomics, with hands on experience in next-generation sequencing workflows, assay validation, and genomic data analysis. I have worked extensively with DNBSEQ platforms, supporting implementation, optimisation, and technical deployment across different laboratory settings. My scientific interests are strongly rooted in infectious diseases, particularly tuberculosis (TB) and HIV, where I see a clear need for more precise, data-driven approaches to diagnosis and management. Additionally, I am driven by an innovation centred mindset looking at how we can translate advanced genomic technologies into practical solutions bridging the gap between high end genomic science and everyday healthcare delivery. I want to contribute to a future where precision medicine is not limited to a few regions, but is accessible, reliable, and impactful for everyone. I want to be part of building systems that allow clinicians to make better decisions, patients to receive more targeted care, and health systems to fully benefit from the power of genomics.
