Alan Asiimwe

Alan Asiimwe is a seasoned Information Systems and Data Management professional with over a decade of experience supporting health research operations in Uganda. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology from Makerere University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation from Uganda Management Institute, complemented by a strong portfolio of professional certifications spanning data management, clinical research, network security, and cybersecurity.

Alan brings a rare combination of IT infrastructure management, enterprise systems administration, and research data management skills that span the full technology stack. On the infrastructure side, he is proficient in administering cloud and physical server environments, managing Windows Server 2016, virtualising ICT environments, and securing organisational networks through leased line interconnectivity and robust backup protocols. He has hands-on expertise in deploying and managing Microsoft Dynamics 365, SSIS packages, and ticketing systems that support IT service delivery across multiple regional offices. His data management competencies are equally extensive, encompassing database design, creation, and modification in MS Access, SQL Server, and REDCap, as well as writing and modifying VB.net and C# programs, SQL and batch scripts, and XML configuration files to interact with study databases and questionnaires.
