Williams Muwambi S. J. is an emerging biomedical professional with a strong foundation in laboratory sciences and a growing focus on clinical medicine. He holds a Diploma in Medical Entomology and Parasitology and a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, and is currently completing his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) at Makerere University. His academic and professional journey reflects a consistent commitment to understanding disease processes, particularly in microbiology, molecular biology, infectious diseases, and public health. He has gained hands-on experience working as a laboratory technician in both microbiology and molecular biology laboratories, where he has developed competencies in diagnostic techniques, laboratory quality management, and research support. He has contributed to several research projects in collaboration with accomplished researchers and fellow students, strengthening his analytical skills and interdisciplinary approach to scientific investigation. Williams has a strong interest in bio-entrepreneurship, particularly in product development aimed at solving healthcare challenges in resource-limited settings. He is also passionate about the automation of laboratory and healthcare processes to improve efficiency and accuracy. His research interests include tuberculosis (TB) and antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which are critical priorities in global health. In addition, he is committed to training and mentoring others, with a focus on building capacity among students and young professionals in biomedical sciences.
