is Ugandan biomedical research with a PhD in Biomedicine from the University of St Andrews, UK. He is a member of the Sabiiti research group within the Infection and Global Health Division of the School of Medicine and a beneficiary of the St Leonard’s scholarship and European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) funded Pan African Consortium for Evaluation of Anti-TB antibiotics (PanACEAII) fellowship. His doctoral research focused on the identification and evaluation of novel biomarkers for Mycobacterium tuberculosis detection and monitoring response to anti-tuberculosis therapy using sputum and non-sputum-based specimens. His research was the first to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of TB-MBLA. This work was done at Naguru Hospital resulting in a high-impact paper pending online publication in the Lancet Microbe Journal.
